Talons of Power: Guise of the Pretenders

Hide, the Knave, Cookie and E-I-C?

Having Tom Brevoort make fun of an idea I had is probably the highlight of my life.

I, uh, need to start living a better life.

In case you guys didn't get all the other jokes in those solicits...

"your desecration of a robot dance, or somesuch" refers to this video

"Primate Pirate Force" is a play on Tom's first ongoing writing gig at Marvel: Fantastic Force

"Devlorilla and Zarathusimian" are variations on 2 characters Tom introduced in the series: Devlor and Zarathustra.

"Goalie Guardian at the Gates of Golgotha" refers to a storyline towards the end of the run where Tom brought back an alternate reality Johnny Storm who was originally kind of an outer space hockey player. (Don't ask.)

"Oh, and Steve said you would be allowed to bring Cap’s shield to your new office, but that he would want to use it when Stephen Colbert comes by to interview him." Joe Quesada sent Colbert Cap's shield the day after Cap died. The shield can easily be seen on Colbert's trophy wall.

"One more thing – let’s talk more about your pitch for Revolutionary War. I think the market is ripe for a sprawling epic like you’re proposing." An obvious reference to trying to replicate Civil War.

Anybody got any artist friends who could take a run at character sketches for the Gamesmen?

I posted this on my blog several months back. Does that count? :)

First of all, we'd need pictures from the rest of us. So far, we've got Sean's photo, and Philip's "Knave" character at his blog probably resembles him as well to some degree, though I'd love to see a photo which confirms that he looks like Scott McCloud.

You can see photos from me at http://www.myspace.com/michaelheide - so we only need one of you, Patrick.

You know that infamous Captain America profile pic as drawn by Rob Liefeld? There you go. Just without the shield...

I love how Tom designed Big Money's schedule to pretty much be "Neener neener neener!" to you guys. Plus they have pirate gorillans and zombie samui.

You guys have your work cut out for you.

It's interesting to see just how pervasive digital memory has become in our everyday lives. It's like everywhere I turn, I see something with a card slot or USB jack, lol. I guess it makes sense though, considering how much more afforable memory has become lately...

Gahhhhh... I shouldn't be moaning and groaning. I can't make it through a single day without using my R4 / R4i!
